If you are reading my site here is what I suggest for your preparations:
Dark colored clothing as you will sweat and it will show under the arms (to put it nicely). Don't bring anything white!!!
Learn how to make a fire if you don't know.
Ask your camping friends what they love to bring camping. Peace Corps is 2 years of camping!
If you are bringing an IPOD get an adapter to plug it into a radio (a receiver of some sort), it is a genius thing! You can buy a radio to receive it and listen to your IPOD aloud!
Head Lamp!!!
Long skirts girls...you can't show your knees at all.
Fun clothes to wear for going out in the cities when we get the chance.
Think of how you are going to save all your pictures. Bring a huge capacity for saving photos either on your camera or on a zip drive.
Spices!!! Food is bland here..trust me.
Envelopes and some stamps from America. As peace corps members travel home they can bring your letters. Pens, markers, if you care to write a lot!
Wind up lighting devices.
A few good books...you can get great books here so don't bring them all as they are heavy!
A tent for a serious camper.
Take care of your student loan crap!!
Look into Malawi phone cards and something called Khoala call back service...its cool.
Seeds!! You can easily have a garden and seeds are small!!!
Good underwear! It must hold up rough laundering conditions.
Look into a blog spot or take care of your email. If you are going to do a mass email set up the to: because you get a limited time on computers. Also, unsubscribe to any junk emails you are getting as they will flood your box. You will go a few months without email access.
Bring adapters for plugs..they use british plugs here.
Bring UNO..or other card games...You will play with students or neighbors. They love BLINK and UNO!
this is a start...ask me anything!

She has been recruited to play soccer for UVM. I am happy to have an excuse to visit Vermont! Please let us know of anything you need (or want). Also, let us know what we can send to the children. You know TCS. There are plenty of people happy to contribute. You look beautiful, by the way. We all love and miss you, Carol Bragale
